The first match of the season under ECB guidelines for COVID turned into a close lose for Bayshill.

Bayshill made 93 with Ajit’s explosive 54, which included four sixes, forming the backbone of the innings. Tom Quinton batted well for an assured 25, with the rest of the team apparently completely seized with a thick layer of rust.

Gotherington made the score with just 2 overs left, but struggled towards the end scoring only 25 off their last 8 overs. Alex Van Dyke picked up 2 for 5 with Ajit Singh, new youthful captain Adrian Pierce and Rod Macleod picking up one each.

This was an enjoyable game between two friendly teams, played in the right spirit.
