Peopleton won the toss and chose to field on a fine, sunny but breezy afternoon.
Bayshill made steady progress, with the top 5 batsman contributing well. Pierce and Van Dyke moving the score along well with some lusty blows clearing the boundary.
250 seemed a good score, until about the third over of Peopleton’s knock. Runs leaked from Bayshill’s attack like secrets as our hosts rushed almost rudely to 160 or so off just 14. Van Dyke took just the only wicket lost, as they climbed to the total with a full eleven overs to spare.
The Crown Inn just down the road provided a tasty buffet afterwards, courtesy of Peopleton CC. This was gratefully received by the Bayshill players, who like the band on the Titanic, played on ’till the cause was finally sunk.
